Casino Gambling

Casino gambling is made up of two major groups. People looking to have a good time, and people working to make money. 95 percent of us fall into that first category, but unless you’re careful at the casino, you can find yourself head-to-head with someone there solely to take your money. They have more practice than you, know more about the game than you and are likely to leave you high and dry at the end of a poker session.

I don’t care if you’re trying to impress your friends, your date or your mother, don’t sit at any online slots where the minimum even approaches a mid to high level. The regulars will patrol those areas, and if you want to have a good time and catch a game with other people just there to have fun, stick to the low-level tables. $5 max raise.

Maybe you think you’re good enough to jump up to gamble more money. Trust me, you’re not. And generally, the guys who have their own seats like Norm at the Cheers bar won’t waste their time spending an hour or two just to make $75. They want to walk out of there with a 4-figure bounty in black chips under their arm.

Pocker especially. They’re quick games, easy bait. If you’re really going to a casino to have fun, because you’re on vacation or out on a night with the guys at a party ship that happens to have a casino, stick to a slower game. If they have seven-card stud, fantastic. Or, if you must sit Hold ‘em, be aware of someone who looks like they know what they’re doing. They’re probably the one not wearing the flashy clothes and/or offering odd comments aimed at throwing people off their game.

Blackjack’s a little different on golden casino, but the rule still applies. No, you’re not playing against a professional, per se, but you are at the same table as them, and the higher the bets get, the more likely the group is to shoot you more than a dirty look if you repeatedly make mistakes. It’s best to learn a little blackjack strategy before you sit down at a blackjack table. Nobody wants to tolerate being scolded by someone other than their wife or teacher, it’s no fun. So if you’re not that dude from 21, stick to lower bet limit tables on Blackjack, as well.
